Liaisons

ASPIRE2 liaisons are tenured faculty members from STEM disciplines who undergo extensive gender equity training so that they can train faculty members who will serve on search committees, assist search committees in developing an evaluation process to ensure that all candidates are judged on their merits and are treated similarly. They will also meet with candidates to provide a confidential environment for them to ask questions about race and gender equity and to learn about the campus climate and work-life balance initiatives and policies and assist in creating opportunities for candidates to meet with faculty from their demographic to reinforce a culture of inclusion. Liaisons meet monthly with Dr. Stephen Spiro, who leads the day-to-day activities of ASPIRE2.
